[Another Journal? Sorry...]

:meow: I came to share my drawing tips I have never taken Art Classes, and I have dropped out of highschool many times, so getting a career is out of my reach. But! I know how frustrating it can be not to know where to start... and I also hate to see more experienced artists refusing to help, just sit there and eat Watchers while sitting on their Premium Profiles ((I have done that many times, it's kind of funny actually :dummy:)) :stare:. I want to do something for those who think they need a little help.

I am not looking for friendships, neither Ice Cream. I am actually doing this because I have heard of Young Artists recoloring someone else's drawing, with the excuse of "I don't know how to draw". And those who makes laugh of recolors, should know that making fun of it is lower than stealing. Don't hold back beginner artists, ok?

  Sonic Cake's #1 tip:

If you are a beginner, commission or request sketches to another users [Who may be aviable for taking them]. Then, trace it and color it yourself.
-I live under the belief that commissioning/requesting a full finished drawing ((A.K.A: Full colored, light effects, cool background)) is kind of useless. If you are going to spend money, at least try to do it in something that may involve yourself too.
With saying this, take those sketches and try to finish them yourself. They are like bases especially made for you! :eager:
If you want to commission your favorite artist but you don't have enough points, or don't have PayPal, don't frustrate yourself. There are WAY another artists hoping to recieve your request, even if at your own point of view, those artists are not so good, it is not bad at all for giving them a try too.

   Sonic Cake's #2 tip:

About the behavior in DeviantART.
Your Profile, the way you type, and the way you talk to other users are really important. Sadly, but true. Image matters. Try to make everyone feel welcome when they visit your Profile. Stuff like "anti-something" Stamps, a long description about yourself, saying how much you hate people and/or saying you are insane, is only going to make people around you to take you "not-so-seriously" or is simply going to drive possible Watchers away. Also, good typing gives you a correct image of youself, believe it or not. Being 12 years old is not an excuse, ok? :P Let others know you are an Artist too, even if you are a beginner.

 Sonic Cake's #3 tip:

Don't be affraid about using bases. Bases are made for being used! And remember not to use someone else's Art Work without their permission. Going back to the image you give to yourself, asking permission for using a drawing gives you an air of respect, and you can save the "OMG YOU STOLE MY DRAWING. I WILL REPORT YOUUUUU!!!!!11!!!" for later.

 Sonic Cake's #4 tip:

Do you ever look at your favorite artist's Art Work, then look at yours and feel completly talentless? Don't stress yourself. EVERYONE knows that feeling, even the artist you admire. Everyone starts like that. The only difference between you and them, is the practice. Push yourself, because the society is not going to do it. Do it for yourself. There are a LOT of tutorials here in DeviantART and in YouTube that will teach you how to do amazing stuff. If you try to follow them and notice that your drawing does not look as good as the tutorial, is only because you need to keep practicing. All Artists improve on each drawing they make.

Sonic Cake's #5 tip:

"Take inspiration. Just remember there is a line between "Getting Inspired by someone's Style" and Imitating". Some words I heard from a guy who draws in Marvel Comics.

 Sonic Cake's last tip:

Don't lose motivation!!!! :eager::eager::eager: Having a good day? Draw. Feeling depressed? Draw. Is it sunny, rainy, there is no sky and the world is coming to an end? Draw!. There will be moments when you feel like giving up, or think "For who and for what? ". It is fine. Relax, try to do other things. Discover if that's what you really want. Maybe you were born for drawing, but not in that area.
And remember:
"Regardless if you are happy or not, be what you want to be.
Regardless if you were given with talent or not, do what you want to do.
Regardless of everything, do it, you lazy motherfucker."
Don't search happiness in your life, it's an endless search. Follow your GOALS. If you call them "dreams", they sound quite impossible :P

ART SECRETS OMG!!!!!

Here is my Shading Secret. It makes everyone's art life easier. You are welcome
Ok so, you have your done Line Art, and your simple color layer.

Duplicate the color Layer, and Modify its Copy into a darker color.

START ERASING THE COPY D:

AND YOU ARE DONE . Now you have a shading.

That's how I shade my drawings I discovered this "technique" while making "#Selfie". I was all lazy, and I couldn't stop getting out of the line with the shade, so I took the color layer, copied it, made it darker, and just erase all I didn't need. Ta-dah....
